This bilingual play set in East Los Angeles is a true celebration of culture, imagination, perseverance, and family. When JJ loses his mom, he feels lost. He misses his mother and has trouble connecting with his hardworking handyman father Mario. Then, JJ begins creating a series of imaginative inventions from leftover cardboard he finds at his dad’s shop. Before long, he discovers that through his ingenuity, he can deepen his connection to both of his parents—and himself.
